An operative cannot be placed on the killzone floor within the hazardous area unless its base is wholly within it (i.e. It cannot be partially within the hazardous area).
Whenever an operative is on the killzone floor and wholly within hazardous area, it is swimming:
When selecting a valid target for an operative on the killzone floor, an intended target on the killzone floor is not a valid target if 4" of hazardous area is between them.
When selecting a valid target for an operative on Vantage terrain, an intended target on the killzone floor is not a valid target if the footprint of a gantry is between them. The same is also true in reverse (an operative on the killzone floor to an intended target on Vantage terrain). However, in both cases, ignore the footprint of gantry terrain features the operative or the intended target is on or in unless targeting line crosses it for the second time.
In both cases, use targeting lines to determine if a hazardous area or the footprint of a gantry is between them.
A gantry’s footprint is the gantry itself, plus the area underneath it.
4" of hazardous area is between operatives A and B, therefore operative B is not a valid target (and neither would operative A be in reverse).
The footprint of a gantry is between operatives A and B, therefore operative B is not a valid target (and neither would operative A be in reverse). Note that the left gantry is ignored when determining this, as operative A is on it.
Equipment can be set up on Vantage terrain and within 2" of Accessible terrain (this takes precedence over the usual restrictions).
Killzone: Bheta-Decima has 2x short gantries, 4x medium gantries, 2x long gantries and 1x thermometric condenser.
Gantry terrain feature has detachable pillars. Unless otherwise specified, pillars are not stacked on each other and located on gantries as follows:
Whenever an operative on killzone floor performs Reposition or Charge action while having Thermometric Condenser terrain feature in it’s control range it can Climb Condenser.
When operative Climbs Condenser, don’t move it. Instead, remove it from the killzone and set it back up on Thermometric Condenser roof in same position horizontally. It must be set up in a location it can be placed, and unless it’s the Charge action, it cannot be set up within control range of an enemy operative.
This map pack provides set of maps fitted to be played with alternative rules. and changes to markers
Bellow you will find six maps designed to work with Preliminary Ops (Kill Team: Core Book) and Approved Ops (available separately). You can randomly determine a map by rolling one D6, or by selecting the one that interest you most.
When playing on Bheta-Decima Killzone, you may choose to use one or more of these alternative rules affecting objective markers.
Treat objective markers as Insignificant and Vantage terrain features. This means that operatives on top of objective markers are no longer swimming.
When determining cover for an operative, if the targeting line passes over an objective marker that the operative has within its control range and does not touch its base, treat that operative as being in cover as if it were benefiting from Light terrain.
Instead of using the previous rules, replace objective markers with the following Marker models.
A Marker model’s base is treated as the objective marker it replaces. The rest of the model is treated as Light terrain.
When an operative performs a Pick Up Marker action upon a Marker model, do not remove it. Its base is no longer treated as an objective marker. That operative is now carrying the corresponding objective marker (use the original marker for that objective for the rest of the battle).
